We stopped for an overnight stay on a cross country trip and were delighted by this campground. We spent the extra $3 for a riverfront spot. The tent sight was larger than most, and we enjoyed watching the barges passing by. Stately old trees dot the campground. The showers we used were in the ‘new building’ and were clean and modern. Weather permitting, we are going to stay here again on our way back through!
This is a suburban park with camping sites on the banks of the Mississippi. Primitive sites are right on the river. Electric/water sites are farther back but close enough for good view and sounds of barges. The gravel sites are level and shaded by large trees. There is some road noise. We did not make use of the showers and restrooms. Price was cheap at $17.00 I wish we could have stayed longer than 1 night to explore the entire park. Would definitely visit again!
This is a very spacious park on the Mississippi River. The sites have water and electric. There is a dump station on site, Reasonably priced. The camp host is very accommodating and friendly. Office hours are $4:00 pm to 10:00 pm Mon-Thru, Open during the day Fri-Sun. We pulled in while the office was closed and the camp host was there in minutes to help us. The free WiFi worked weel.
We arrived around 8:30pm (it was dark out) in our RV - we were greeted by the grounds caretaker who gave us the run-down on what to do, and said he'd meet us in the morning to get us registered; he was very friendly and helpful, as this was our first time at a campground in our RV. We found a spot and got backed in and hooked up easily. The campground wasn't super busy, but very clean. It seems that every camping spot has a pretty good view of the Mississippi River. In the morning, we got up and took a long walk along the river; we aren't fisherman but it would be a great place if you like to fish. Our dogs stayed with us and enjoyed the walking area as well. We only stayed one night since we were just passing through, but we would definitely stay again!
I hiked here during spring. Great trails! Not overgrown. Just a gem in the Quad Cities. Also bike trails. Also has playground. Great place for families with children. Lovely play area with huge field, too. Looking forward to hiking here in the summer and autumn. When we went there were pretty flowers.
