This is a lovely sylvan campground—green grass, huge shady trees, a lovely pond. It is meticulously maintained. Each campsite has a ground up blacktop base so you won’t get muddy feet even when it rains. The owner and staff are very friendly and helpful. We ordered a lot of Amazon and Zulily packages with no hassle—we were careful to give the address format KC Campground gave us. This campground generously hosts fundraisers for good causes. If you need hot tubs, name entertainment, ballrooms and that sort of amenity this is not the campground for you. This is a beautiful place—-a clean and inexpensive campground. KC Campgrounds does what they do very well. I give them 5 stars because they do just that.
We went here for the Milan Bluegrass Festival, which was excellent, but did not stay overnight at the campground. The festival was nice, well run, and the facilities were adequate. There is a covered stage for the bands, and there are large, mature trees that help provide shade for most of the day.
Stayed two nights to go sightsee ing. Sites were ok. Not to spacious. Seemed like alot of people lived there which is ok. Was not to far from town so we could get groceries. Small pond and beach area for kids.
I have friends that have camped here for a few years. I was able to get down to see them. The people at check in were very polite and friendly and helpful. My friends were back at the campsite they like. The picnic tables are clean and in great shape. The campground itself was very clean as were the public bath/shower room. There is an area for kids to play and have fun. This place is off the beaten path but very nice. My friends really like this place and I like visiting with them when they are here.
PROS Good value. Electric and water pull-through 60 ft grass site for $30/night. Trees. Decent view. Good spacing. Poor wifi at our spot, but good wifi from office. CONS Staff not friendly to transient (non-seasonal) campers. Rejected my Amazon package. This demonstrated lack of respect for campers. My package was labeled per the manager's instructions, but was rejected upon delivery. HUGH potholes in Sherman Rd, a gravel entrance road that almost wrecked the undercarriage of my rig. Ugly algae in pond. Mostly seasonal campers.
