It's impossible to explain what an amazing experience staying overnight in the Foundry's room in a fort was! The ambiance, uniqueness, and history of that location made it truly special. For those who care about the details... Our host was prompt and polite with lots of information about the lodging, the bed was far more comfortable than I would have guessed, the shared kitchen we could use was large with 2 fridge/freezers and all of the silverware/plates/utensils we could need. There was a microwave, stove, kettle, toaster, and more. There are tables inside or outside you can use. The bathrooms (in a different building) were very clean with a small, but nice shower with great water pressure and clean towels. They provided seasoned wood and an axe for creating a fire in their fire pit. And the WiFi worked outside by the fire. You can take a stroll down to the lake, and restaurants or a very nice supermarket are close (were drove). I imagine being out of the room by 9am might be difficult for some people, but this is a museum that opens at 9, so they need to be able to show the room. That being said, you can still use the shared kitchen area that has tons of tables and the shower bathroom until you are ready to leave. You can check in after 4pm. Large parties can actually rent a bunkhouse with a bunch of bunk beds. I think it sleeps up to 16. I'm so glad we stayed! …
