Vi bodde overer under bryllupet vårt og var svært skuffet. Rommene var små og ikke hva som var annonsert. Når vi tilbød seg å betale mer for et bedre rom de ansatte skuldrene og sa at de var fulle. Vasken på rommet var blokkert og fylt med skålding varmt vann, det var insekter

Dette er andre gangen vi har vært i Slough. Første gang var skuffende. Denne gangen var bedre på alle måter. The Alexandra Suiten var et nydelig rom med utsikt over hagen. Middag på restauranten var også svært høy kvalitet.

Vi booket oss inn for en champagne vinsmaking middag kvelden og jeg følte tilbudet var super verdi for pengene. Ved ankomst ble vi møtt av en flaske champagne på isen på rommet vårt og sjokolade. Inkludert i prisen vi nøt en sju kurs tasking meny til middag og en full engelsk

Vi bodde her en natt, på en mandag. Siden vi skulle reise med vår lille hund, dette kom opp med en søkemotor som et hundevennlig hotel. Hadde tidligere deltatt på en bryllupsfeiring her, visste vi at det og bestilte et standardrom på telefon (ingen mulighet for hunder på

Når du kjører opp til hotellet får du en god følelse om stedet, plenene er enorme og godt vedlikeholdt. Det finnes en historie om dette stedet som intrigues. Innsjekkingen var i beste fall middelmådig, jeg ble delvis førte til rommet av resepsjonisten som deretter satt meg

Hi there , can you please let me know if all your rooms have now been refurbished
All rooms in the hotel have been refurbished within the last 5 years, however we are currently 1 year into a major refurbishment of the entire property, both house and grounds. To date, the first stage of the public areas are almost now complete (the most disruptive part!), with only minor work still to be completed by the end of August. The majority of the main house bedrooms are in excellent repair and decoration, with some freshened within the last 2 years. This nevertheless will be the second stage of the project, with all bedrooms redesigned and refurbished regardless. The garden rooms and lodge rooms are part of this planning, as they do now require the most work. Do come and see us in the meantime, I am certain you will be disappointed! Your response is factually incorrect. At no point did I meet or speak to your Hotel Manager. I did not receive a bottle of champagne. I note the dietary issues were not mentioned either. Nor the no show of the ordered newspaper. I believed the purpose of Reviews on Trip Advisor was for the benefit of all, including the hotel management to improve the hotel for their guests. I'm happy to read refurbishment is planned and the grounds, which much of is very pleasant. I do suggest that you obtain correct facts before responding in such a way in future. I'm sorry that this response has not endeared me to returning anymore than before. Adam S, General Manager at Stoke Place, responded to this review, 2 days ago Dear Mrs Wedge Thank you for your review, and I am sorry that you did not enjoy your stay with us, despite a wonderful wedding weekend. I fully appreciate that you encountered several issues during your visit, including the problem with hot water on one morning; as you rightly say, this was resolved as soon as possible by our maintenance team, however I do apologize for the inconvenience caused. I am aware that my Hotel Manager introduced himself and spoke to you on several occasions over the weekend to assuage and resolve your concerns, and also left you a bottle of champagne with our compliments as a small gesture. It is therefore disappointing that you felt it necessary to leave further feedback on a public forum, as we would always rather have the opportunity to speak to our guests directly, thereby ensuring complete satisfaction prior to their departure from Stoke Place, no matter the nature of the stay. It is in this manner that we are able to act upon constructive criticism in the long term. With regard to the refurbishment of the property, the first stage of this major project begins on 1st August taking in all public areas, and beginning with the main reception. During the refurbishment, our guests will see very little disruption to normal service and facility, however once this initial stage is completed at the end of August, it will result in a stunning new entrance, entirely restored and in keeping with the features of the 17th century Queen Anne house, complemented by open fires and some beautiful antique furniture, as well as a new destination restaurant. The re-invigoration of Stoke Place, and its Capability Brown designed grounds over the coming years is tremendously exciting, and will ensure that this historic property continues to offer a up to date, memorable, and outstanding guest experience in the time to come. Can you tell me if you are within walking distance of any village/pubs etc?
Yes, The Red Lion at Stoke Poges does excellent food. Good service too and a lot cheaper than the hotel. Turn right out of main gate and it's a short walk along the road. Pub will be on your left.
