For the price and location you can not complain too much! In Gods country and wildlife everywhere. 2 HUGE black angus bulls bedded right next to the motel and serenaded us for part of the night... Awesome sky's at night and very peaceful. food at the store is as good as you can get in this town!

The view is beautiful, but the motel is at the back of vacant lot. The room smelled musty, like it had been closed up for a long time. There was a lot of dust, but I can understand that, this is a remote area. There were mouse droppings on the floor. I can understand that this is a remote area and so, therefore no tv. It would have been nice to have satellite and telephone. I guess you would call this "primitive" and that's ok, but it was not advertised that way. There is no cell service or pay phone in the area. If you need to make a call, even if there is an emergency, you can't do it. I'm sure they will let you use the phone in the bar, but it closes at 9:00. Don't have a heart attack after 9 pm or before 9 am. There is satellite tv in the bar, it couldn't be much to have it added to the 3 motel rooms. We put our sleeping bags on top of the bed and slept in our sleeping bags. It was too gross for us to sleep under the covers. We only stayed 1 night and cancelled the rest of our reservation and stayed the remainder of our visit at the bed & breakfast (i'll review it).The bed & breakfast was much better.

My girlfriend and I found this cute little motel in the northeastern corner of Oregon that is a diamond in the rough. Imnaha is a town with a population of 12, this place feels like you just stepped back in time 60 years. I was actually kind of scared when we pulled up to the town store/tavern to check in to the motel, as it is looks like it's ready to fall down and was probably built in the early 1900's. We were a bit surprised to find out they dont take Visa and their is no ATM, luckily we had a checkbook with us, otherwise it would have been 35 miles back to Joseph. Wrote a check, had some dinner and were then directed up the road a few blocks to a large Park like area with picnic tables and at the back edge of the property is the Motel, looks like fairly new construction. Upon entering we were surprised and happy to find that it was very clean and modern with A/C, TV & VCR with tapes to watch. This place was very relaxing and we enjoyed all their is to see and do in the Snake River canyon recreation area close by. I would highly reccomend this place if your looking for a peaceful, off the beaten path place to relax.
