Beautiful unique B&B; lovely grounds;antique furnishings. Incredible indoor pool and whirlpool. Outstanding host/owner...Bill;very gracious....supplying a refrigerator full of breakfast food and snacks. Very romantic! Adjacent to the incredible "Grey Moss Inn" restaurant...and the lovely village of "Helotes" with great shopping, restaurants and famous dance hall/barbeque.
Went to Helotes to hear Willie Nelson in his natural environment. Found this luscious Inn. Not really a bed and breakfast, since there's a big sign that instructs one "to make them yourself". Bill, the Innkeeper also explained that there are lots of goodies and breakfast in the apartment, but no one is around to make it for you.. No worries. Close to Texas BBQ Country, Bandera, and a lot of music venues! We saw Willie at John Floore's Country Store. Seems they have music there most nights. We stayed in the Royal Suite, a huge apartment with hot tub. The Enchanted Cottage will be the only accomodation available here in 2015, as Bill the owner is moving himself back into the Royal Suite. A lovely retreat, excellent value, ultra quiet and romantic.
We have stayed here many times on our trips to Texas. Bill is a wonderful host, and meets you on your arrival. It is located near the amazing John T. Floore's Dance Hall, which is an amazing music venue. Bill offers a pool and hot tub, and all the fixings of a good breakfast. We usually stay 2 or 3 nights because it is central to so many things in San Antonio. The gated drive makes you feel very safe, though the area where it is located in is not threatening at all. The peace and quiet here is well worth a visit. Thanks Bill for all the great info about the area.
The charm and quaintness of the Grey Stone Manor B & B was amazing. It is one of those "enchanted" moments, for sure! The Manor was immaculate and very tastefully decorated with the most beautiful antiques. We stayed in the Royal Suite which offered a queen size bed, sitting area with fireplace and a large bathroom with a beautiful hand decorated claw foot tub. I visited each room and each has its own personal touches with antique furnishings that are truly beautiful. Everything you could possibly need in a kitchen was there. If you wanted to cook or just snack...it was there! So many breakfast items on pretty china and silver. Very quiet neighborhood and so convenient to the legendary John T Floore's dance hall that was a blast. I would not stay at any of the hotels in Helotes, so the manor was the perfect choice. Even though it was winter time, the grounds were still really nice. I can imagine what it looks like when everything turns green. This would be a perfect place for a wedding or girls week end outing. We met Bill, the owner of Grey Stone and you could not ask for a better host who really cares about his guests having the most enjoyable and memorable stay. We will certainly return in the spring.…
