Ted: You and Jill are the perfect guests…quiet and low maintenance after your 100 mile ride. Tell Jill I loved, loved, Loved the wine she left me. It was even more special since she "shared" it with me. Please come again!

It's so sweet that you felt like family…because I felt like you were too! Just be waiting for your doorbell to ring in Mt. Shasta. It'll be Glenn and Betty! We just tasted a nice bottle of wine you'd like! It's called Clio. Pretty pricey, but well worth it. Tell Patty we both say "hi."

Wendell…I can write that because you have identified yourself on TripAdvisor by your name…you are a good and true man! And if anyone is reading this response, you would be advised to know that Wendell is my cousin and I adore him! (and his wife as well!) so read his review with that in mind, but also that he always speaks the truth! I had such a wonderful time being with the extended family when Elwood passed into eternity that it remains one of my favorite weekends of all time. I am sorry for our loss, but remain grateful for the legacy of your family that he left behind!

You and your wife are candidates for my favorite breakfast eaters!!! I was truly sorry I didn't have a room for you on your return trip through Bellingham. I have such a hard time believing you belong in Calgary. I think you should move much closer! I will look forward to our next encounter, and hope to meet your parents as well.

Such a lovely review you wrote about your stay with us. I do so appreciate your kind words and your taking the time to write it. I see that it's your very first review, so that makes it all the more special to me. I think that the garden is even better than when you were here. You can come take a peak anytime! I'll make tea if I'm home.

Eis the breakfast part of the room price?
Our breakfast was included in the quoted price, yes. We were also served warm, fresh-baked scones outside our door 1 hour before our breakfast was ready. What a way to start our morning. Do ask the owner about this so you receive the most accurate information. We were, of course, just guests. Breakfast, to me, was just as big a charm for our whole stay as the location, comfort, warmth, and reception.

Hi, my husband and mother are planning a trip to Bellingham late September. The apartment suite sounds perfect but was wondering if any accommodations are on first floor? Although his mother is a very active 80 year old, repeated stairs would be a little difficult for her.
I'm sorry, but all our rooms are on the second story. The apartment has an outside entrance as well as being accessible inside the house.

Hi. My husband and I and another couple are planning a vacation in the Northwest the end of May, 2015. We are from Ohio and have not been to your area before. I have read many nice reviews about your B&B. I am wondering what attractions there are around/near your property. We like to explore, easy hiking, tour and really get to know an area. Thank you so much. Gayle
Our bed and breakfast is set in a real neighborhood, but at the end of a "dead end" street so it is very quiet. Many guests take off from here and walk up the hill behind us to view Bellingham Bay from an even higher vantage point. We also have a lovely lake just a mile south of us that has a 2.7mile walking trail around it. It is a county park, so there are no houses, and no motor boats on the lake. It is quite pristine. Everything else in Bellingham is about a 7 minute drive from our house: Whatcom Falls Park, with many, many trails to walk, plus of course the falls themselves which are lovely. Whatcom County believes in creating green spaces so we enjoy lots and lots of walking trails, the Interurban Trail, the trail from Fairhaven Village to downtown Bellingham which runs in part on the water…literally, they have built the walkway over the water. There are also outdoor sculpture exhibits: Western Washington University has a map of all their sculpture, and we enjoy the Big Rock Garden at the top of Alabama Hill which is a garden and sculpture combination. We have a lovely old restored theater called the Mount Baker Theater…Joan Biaz had a concert there last week. We have museums (the Spark Museum gets the best reviews from my guests. It's a museum of electricity and they have "shows" twice a week.) and art galleries and music venues. And we have many new and wonderful "breweries" popping up where they make their beer on sight and serve quite wonderful pub food. A trip to Mt Baker is always a good choice if the weather is decent or if the sky is clear. When you get to the top of Mt Baker you will see Mt Shuksan, which is the most photographed mountain in the world (says the woman who lives here!) Thanks for your questions and inquiries. My husband and I travel often with one to four other couples and I think it's a splendid way to travel. And on that note, our bed and breakfast does have additional options available for rent. We have a total of 5 options: The two listed on our website and three other choices. One is a beautifully appointed apartment attached to our 2nd story. We also have two rooms down the hall which share a bathroom across the hall. These rooms are between the ensuite rooms and the apartment. As of today, I charge $150.00 a night for the apartment. It has just one bedroom (with a queen bed) and one bath but it has a full kitchen and living room with a chaise couch that turns into a very comfortable queen bed. We built this apartment about 7 years ago, and our daughter and her husband lived there for 4 years before recently buying a home. We have started calling it the Bayview Suite because there is a lovely view of Bellingham Bay from the living room. It has a gas fireplace. It is a lovely space. Another option is to rent the apartment and one of the rooms down the hall. The ones without an ensuite are currently $100.00 a night. So, for $250.00/night you and your friends would have all the conveniences of the apartment in which you could cook and dine-in and watch a little tv or play cards at night, and a little space to be separate as well. It is early morning as I write this, and I am beginning to sound like a sales person, so I'd better stop. I'll look forward to hearing more from you. Betty, innkeeper and cook
