Pat was very accommodating to our overnight discussion to come to the Island. Sign was alittle hard to see coming up to it but the property is very private from the road. We didn't get to use the porch; however, it was very big and inviting but yet if you wanted privacy you could have it. The bed was very comfortable, not to hard & not to soft. Extra blankets if needed and extra pillows. Big clean rooms WITH full private bathroom. Big shower with hot water! Even with us needing to leave before Pat got up, she had muffins, fresh fruit, and coffee (if needed) for us. My favorite was all for lilac brushes and monarchs around. This brought back childhood memories. So Beautiful!!! Don't forget your camera like I did. Thos with my phone & without zoom.
Froghollow Farm is real country living! Lovely old farmhouse updated to include full bath for every room and a ceiling fan! No AC because you don't need it! Fun to travel to the island by ferry. Pat and Kerwood were wonderful hosts! Clean, comfortable rooms and breakfasts to write home about. We stayed two nights and had scrumptious baked oatmeal with warm cherry sauce one morning. The next morning we had delicious omelettes and fresh fruit. The rest of your time is your own to explore the island, hike, read on the shady porch. If you're looking to relax, this is the place!
Current owners are inflexible. Breakfast is at 8. No exceptions. Coffee is not allowed in the room. The room is sparse. No a/c, no clock, no radio. When asked for a fan, it was working but broken. Very disappointed with the accommodations.
Our family of 4 was looking for last minute lodging for one night. The Inn had two charming rooms available. Breakfast was delicious french toast and my wife who needs a gluten free diet was easily accommodated. We were missing access to the internet that would have been helpful for further planning. Our hike to the light house on Rock Island was one of the highlights of the trip.
My husband and I have never stayed at a Bed and Breakfast before staying at Froghollow. We arived later than planned, but called to inform them. They were extremely gracious. We left early each morning to attend my husband's college reunion and returned somewhat late in the evenings. The door was always open and the lights always on. The breakfast was quite lovely in presentation and tasted equally good. David and John were interesting hosts and seemed concerned about our meals other than breakfasts. David even made chocolate chip oatmeal cookies and left them on a table outside our room. We were truly welcomed guests in their charming home. We are definitely going to look for bed and breakfasts in the future rather than hotels.
