Visiting this place for a couple of day I have to say only nice things about it. The pool area was like a paradise, no music, Just the pool, the bar and you! This sense of calmness is very valuable! The staff is also very friendly which I really liked. The rooms were very nice and clean which is something valuable to mention! I would definitely come again here if I will be in Santorini next time.

We were sold this a 4 star, but I now see it’s a 3 star !! - that’s why it was cheap However this hotel is ok for a base. Bedroom was ok, looked clean but didn’t feel clean if you get what I mean. No kettle in room and if your like me you need a coffee in your life constantly. Bathroom was ok, except when you have a shower the bubbles come out of drain by the loo. Breakfast was ok, the cheese was nice. Juice wasn’t so nice. Bar prices were so expensive 9.50 euros for a Diet Coke and coffee. Owner was lovely but cried on several occasions Now if you walk down the road, you are at the black beach and so much available. The best latte is available at the 24hr bakery, the vegan restaurant on the beach front is outstanding and the Chinese along from the bakery is also fantastic. So much more, but this is about sandys. So basic stay but a good location and we met some great people.

Having read poor reviews before we went we were a little worried about certain things but we prefer to make up our own minds when we get there. We are in no way snobs and never expect perfection but we do expect a good level of cleanliness. Our room was cleaned most days, although various parts of the bathroom were not touched, like behind the toilet. A couple of days we didn't have our room cleaned because the man came around 5.30pm to do it, which is a very strange time to come and clean and we were getting showered and ready to go out. The bed sheets were not the cleanest when we arrived and were never changed during the stay. The cleaning staff were very polite and friendly but had way too much work to do, there were only 3 different men working that we saw, apart from the resort owner Kiki and her husband? These 3 men were doing everything, cleaning rooms, taking luggage to rooms, cleaning the pool area (if you could call it cleaning), sorting laundry, gardening, clearing breakfast things etc. We never saw anyone cleaning the actual pool, although Kiki told us all on arrival that it was cleaned every day. We went in once and came out with some kind of white residue on our skin, we didn't bother going around the pool again.
Kiki was very welcoming when we arrived but overcharged everyone for the tourism tax. She told us it was €5 per night when in fact it's only €3 per night. Drinks at the bar were also very overpriced, €16 for 2 bottles of lager. We didn't bother with anything else as we saw the prices and bought our own from outside the resort. Breakfast was a very basic continental one and some of it had seen better days. The coffee was from a machine and was the best thing about the breakfast. There's bakeries not too far from the resort if you fancy going and getting something better.
Our room was a decent size for the two of us and the aircon was a godsend as it was quite hot while we were there. The room got very stuffy without it and opening the door to the balcony didn't bring in much air so we had the aircon on at night too. The shower needed a good clean/de-scale, we couldn't use the waterfall shower head as half the holes were clogged up and the ones that did work squirted water out at all directions so the bathroom got soaked. We only used the smaller shower head for the rest of our holiday and even that soaked half the bathroom.
We paid well over £100 extra each at the time of booking to upgrade to a "suite with a private balcony or terrace and a jacuzzi". 3 months after booking we received an email from Easyjet to say Sandy's Paradise had contacted them to let us know the jacuzzi would not be heated as is stated on their website. We could hardly cancel the booking then when we'd already paid a deposit and some of the holiday. We decided it couldn't be that bad so went ahead as planned. The jacuzzi isn't even a proper jacuzzi, it was a concrete section built into the corner of the wall with water in it and it had a high concrete step also built into the side right by the balcony edge, so one mis-step and you could fall over the edge, also it seemed way too high to climb up with any decency and without giving everyone at the pool opposite a good laugh! We didn't use the "jacuzzi" as it was dirty at the bottom and some of the buttons didn't seem to work anyway. After we checked out we watched the man (the owner?) take a tub of pool tablets out from a cubbyhole and go around dropping one into the jacuzzis, so that's hardly giving it a proper clean. The balcony/terrace was quite small and completely covered over so we had no sun at any time, but that's not the end of the world. The website also states there would be a kettle and phone in all rooms but there was neither and we were quite looking forward to sitting on the balcony in a morning with a nice coffee.
Overall we had a nice enough stay because we went out and explored the island and went to the beach/sea rather than staying around Sandy's Paradise. But we were very disappointed that we did not get what we paid for at all. For what is advertised as a 4* resort it most definitely is not. It was a very expensive week and not worth it at all.
One thing we will recommend, if you're staying here, is going out and down the little road opposite the entrance. It brings you out onto the main road in Perissa and there are some very nice restaurants and bars, we especially liked Dorian's Bar for cocktails and a restaurant along the main road to the left which is painted blue outside and all the windows are open. Lovely staff and food and very decently priced. If you walk right to the end of the main road (to the left) there's a small restaurant called Gyro's Place, they do the most AMAZING gyros and the staff are so lovely. Try their Gyro's Place Fries, oh my!!! There's also a lovely white & blue church opposite that's worth a photo. And if you want to get the bus anywhere then there's a bus stop right outside Bob's Bar on the main road, it goes to Fira. That's nice for a look around with lots of shops, restaurants and the cable cars. From Fira bus station you can get other buses to Oia and Akrotiri and back to Perissa.

Once you get your head around that this is not an international 4 star hotel, it’s a Greek 4 star hotel aka a budget hotel ( 2 star at best) . On arrival the reception room was closed so I went to the bar to find “Kiki” who didn’t seem to move very far the whole time I was there… Tried to overcharge me for tourist tax but after helping her count to 3 several times we eventually agreed on my calculation.. She then tried to sell me an overpriced 6 pack of water ( which seems standard practice here ) to put in my empty fridge… 4 star would expect a bottle of water in the room… Straight onto selling excursions! I was shown to my room by a male member of staff, we went to the wrong room initially but he eventually found it… lower ground floor (basement) and a couple more steps down immediately inside door.. it appeared to be one of the “newer” rooms and was adequate for the price.. towels had seen better days and were not great quality. Shower head could do with a descaling and the corners of the shower floor seemed neglected..
Could hear people talking in neighbouring rooms and sounded like upstairs toilet was above my bed so earplugs would be the way forward for a good sleep
Bar was not particularly clean and €4 for a can of coke / Fanta was a bit steep… this must be where the 4 star bit comes in, the prices on site!
Loads of comments about breakfast on here.. it is what it is, no frills continental, again don’t expect too much from a 2 star hotel and you basically get what you pay for..
Pool didn’t seem to be cleaned too often, just a lazy clean, keep adding chlorine, that’ll work!
If it was sold as a 2 star I would have expected some of the above, 4 star it’s not and “Kiki” is not a great host, just felt like every conversation was an upselling opportunity for her…
