This is a basic lodge style hotel in the main high street. It’s clean and fine for a ski trip. The resort doesn’t have a lot to offer but the hotel is fine and certainly for budget conscious skiers it’s totally adequate … note this review is for 2015 not 2020!
Apartment booked with Beito Hotell in Stølstunet. The apatment is located in the same building as the local shoppong mall which is very convenient, and it comes with covered parking. centrally located to skiing tracks. The apartment has all the necessary things to make for a comfortable stay except that there is no washing machine. The hotel also does not offer laundry service. This is very inconvenient since the main activity is skiing and this results in frequent changing of clothes. So if you are planning to stay for a week or so, be sure to bring enouch changes of clothes .
I’ve stayed here before, many many years ago, and have good memories. Those memories were destroyed. So, first off, you have to order pillows, sheets and towels, they are not included. Now these are apartments, but still, that should be included, it’s pretty basic. We were just spending the night, but going to sleep in those beds was NOT something I was looking forward to. The sheets and pillowcases as well as the duvet covers were old and had stains on them. It seems they hadn’t been changed in a while. After a long day of driving I was looking forward to getting into bed, but it was not inviting. The pillow was so overused that it might as well not have been there, I’ll include photos so you know what I’m talking about. It might not be easy to see the stains from the photos, but believe me, they’re there. The kitchen is fully functional, the problem is the lack of cutlery and plates. There weren’t even enough for three people. That’s about everything that’s wrong with this place. There were however good things. The view is fantastic, no other word for it. The location is in the middle of the village and as such is perfect. The living room as well as the kitchen is spacious. There’s a kitchen table, refrigerator/freezer, stove and sink as well as a dishwasher (if I’m not mistaken), basically a normal kitchen. The bathroom is good, relatively big and bright, with a shower, tiles, a sink and a washing machine (I think, not 100% certain on the washing machine). The living room has a couch, a chair, a TV and a table. There’s also a small balcony next to the sitting area with a beautiful view. The main bedroom with its double bed is nice. The extra bedroom is very cramped though, they managed to put a bunk bed (with foam mattresses) in there and as a grown man you almost have to go back out just to turn around. Getting into the bottom bed without banging your head is a challenge. So if you’re going to stay there, bring your own pillows, pillowcases, sheets and duvet covers, you can get it for a little more money if you call in advance, but the only thing worth taking is the towels. Other than that, it’s a great place, too bad the basic stuff is so bad, because the location and nature is great.…
