En utrolig opplevelse! Fantastiske lokaler, kjempegod mat og super service. Alle de ansatte var utrolig hyggelige. Er en helt spesiell opplevelse du ikke får noe annet sted. Anbefales absolutt til alle som befinner seg i Ho Chi Minh!

Vi var en stor gruppe som ble fordelt i mindre grupper. Før vi gikk inn i restauranten ble vi testet med å legge et puslespill med bind for øynene slik at vi ble trent i å gjøre ting i mørket. Vi ble ledet til bordet av vår blinde servitør og vi fikk prøvd hvilke utfordringer det er å ikke ha synet. Vi bestilte drikke og fikk servert dette og første rett og fikk forklart hvor bestikket lå og hvor drikket stod. Det ble en merkelig,men interessant opplevelse å spise aeg igjennom et måltid uten å se hva man spiste. Det ble også en utfordring å snakke med de andre ved bordet som man ikke kunne se. Maten smakte veldig godt og etter at vi var ute av restauranten igjen fikk vi vite hva vi hadde spist. Vi hadde ikke gjettet korrekt på alle rettene vi hadde spist. Kan anbefale et måltid her i totakt mørke.

You will have quite a hard time, as you mention, to place names of ingredients to the tastes, textures and smell in the dishes. Of course you are also more focussed on conversations with one another at the table.

FANTASTISK. Som beskrevet er alle servitørene enten blinde eller døve. Det gjøres en helt ufattelig imponerende jobb, og totalopplevelsen er i skyene hos hele familien her. Vi hadde vegetarvarianten. Anbefaler at alle prøver den samme varianten (enten asiatisk, vesten eller vegetar), slik at man kan snakke og diskutere smakene og rettene en spiser i mørket. Man får et helt nytt perspektiv på sanser og mat generelt. Flott service, man blir guidet gjennom alt!

I am glad you liked the dinner from service to food.
Since 70% of our sense is sight, in the dark with 30% left for four senses there is indeed an overload on your senses; taste and smell heighten, you will start to touch everything around you and the texture of the food is suddenly more noticeable, also one’s hearing does become intensified.
We take sight quite for granted and you definitely came to the conclusion, or at least confirmed the fact, that we are eating with our eyes.
Indeed, we do recommend our guests to take the same menu, as it enhances the experience; it is nice to talk about and discuss the different ingredients in the menu.

Dining in the dark is indeed more than just a meal; it is a sensory journey that will make you re-evaluate perception of taste and smell, plus providing job opportunities for blind and visually impaired staff.
We always try our best to welcome our guests, however it is definitely recommended to make reservations prior, in order to avoid disappointment, since on many evenings we are being booked up fast.

Dining in the dark does indeed touch many aspects, for you as a guest is a unique dining experience, focusing on ones “other” senses and not being distracted by phones, secondly it provides us to create jobs for the blind and visually impaired and thirdly that all together raises the awareness into the blind community and one gets to understand better how our senses work.
